Pivot Partnerships has a talented core team with expertise in land use planning, geospatial technology, design, finance, and economics.

We collaborate across disciplines, around the global tapping into specialized knowledge and skills with fresh perspectives to best address your need.

Our approach involves problem-solving techniques such as Design Thinking and GeoDesign. Our success is rooted in our understanding of systems and how they interact to create customized sustainable solutions that enhance well-being.

We function to make sense of otherwise unwieldy collections of assets, resources and opportunities. The unique aspect of our work is the ability to connect data and information to meaningful action and measurable results.

Our role is to bring order to complex arrays of assets, resources, and opportunities. What sets our work apart is our ability to link data and information to decisive action and tangible outcomes.

  • Pivot works throughout the United States and Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, and South Africa).

We have done projects in various communities but our work starts when a local company, community or organization reaches out to us.

  • Pivot’s work is supported by consulting fees or through subscriptions to access Pivot’s data tools.

  • In most cases, the problem that people think they have really isn’t the problem. If you are curious about whether your community or organizational concern is one that Pivot can assist with, please connect with us through email or by phone.

Generally, our work is in the following areas:

    • Community Health

    • Safety and Justice

    • Poverty Alleviation

    • Education

    • Economic Development

    • Land Use Planning and Community Design

    • Energy

    • Housing and Transportation

  • Every project is different but generally someone reaches out to us with

    • an idea they have for improving their community,

    • a challenge with connecting to households or resources to allocate a resource or address a need,

    • a business problem that involves people or provision of services, or

    • a business or organizational challenge that isn’t achieving the desired outcomes for the people or places it is supposed to serve.

Through conversations and engaging with local stakeholders, we then use our proprietary data tool to understand the root cause of the situation. We develop a blueprint that guides how to achieve the desired outcome and manage the relevant stakeholders to get to the finish line.
