ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION
Pivot’s Assessment & Evaluation approach is two-fold.
Assessment. Our assessment examines the specific need you are trying to solve, the population you hope to serve, and the desired outcome you hope to achieve. We also review your organization and how you provide services. This step involves collecting data, interviewing employees and stakeholders related to your organization, and understanding your organizational processes.
Evaluation. Typical evaluation methods examine your organization’s work on it’s own but Pivot employs a proprietary data tool that examines the influence of your intervention or service within the overall breadth of services being provided to that community or household. Our evaluation strategy helps organizations shift to a mindset that we need each other to reach larger goals.
CLIENT DATA MANAGEMENT
Most small- to medium-sized nonprofits fit into one of three data management categories: 1) most of their client data is still paper based, 2) Excel spreadsheets are used to collect service data, or 3) the data system in place may be top of the line but data is siloed within your organization and you don’t understand the influence of services being provided within other organizations. Unfortunately, there are a significant number of organizations that fit all three categories.
Pivot’s client data management tools, through a collaboration with CharityTracker, connect data and resources to achieve desired outcomes. The number of nonprofits who continue to serve the same individuals year after year is staggering and there is no understanding of the cross-functional relationship of services provided because of the inefficiencies in their data tools.
Pivot’s client data management tools connect your work to other Pivot Partners, providing you with a network for referrals and data insights that serve as a blueprint for the collective activity and where services and resources are needed. Our system maintains privacy and upholds the most stringent security standards.
DATA INSIGHTS FOR SERVICE DELIVERY (Data Subscriptions)
Nonprofits have the best intentions, with goals of solving a problem or filling a particular need but the toughest challenge most nonprofits face is identifying where their services are needed and quantifying the magnitude of the problem. Societal challenges from housing to preservation of natural environments to jobs and education are complex and occur because of numerous factors interacting with each other.
STA-CIS is a proprietary data tool from Pivot that analyzes the interdependence of policy, household characteristics, the relationship between physical assets, and structural and systemic barriers. From this analysis, STA-CIS provides visualizations and reports to guide interventions, service delivery, and project design.
STA-CIS is powered by aggregated primary and public data, allowing our clients to make decisions based upon pooled activity without the proprietary, personal, or sensitive raw data of our partners being shared with others.
The result is more effective decision-making and service delivery. STA-CIS provides nonprofits with the guidance needed to become effective, solving challenges that yield visible and sustainable quality of life improvements.
DIRECT FUNDING
(Coming late March 2025)
Without funding, nonprofits are unable to achieve their mission. Each year over $50 billion is contributed directly to nonprofits or placed in mechanisms to designate funding at a future date. The majority of these funds are applied to nonprofits with the capacity to write effective grants, market their brand, or solicit funding from large donors. Many without access to these skills or resources are highly effective and have invaluable local relationships with a real pulse on the need and how to address an issue, yet they often do without themselves in order to serve others.
Pivot’s direct funding model allows nonprofits who have gone through our Assessment and Evaluation services, been provided with any needed Capacity Building support, are partners in our Data Management service, and are Pivot Certified to automatically receive funds without ever writing a grant application.
How do we do it?
Participation in our services allows the Pivot team to establish a relationship with our nonprofit partners, giving them the space to focus on their work and be effective. We know what our partners do, we understand their process, and have witnessed their effectiveness. The least we can do is take the stress out of finding funding.
